While not a common vacation hotspot, spending your vacation in India is an exciting and adventurous way to experience a unique country with a variety of cultures. With over 1 billion citizens, India has one of the world’s most unique cultural bases. Vacations India provides tourists with package deals that can help cut down on the costs of traveling to and around India. When in India you should be sure that you visit the capital city of Delhi, the city of Punjab, and be around for the Diwali celebration.

The first place you must see on your India vacation is the capital city of Delhi, which is split between Old Delhi and New Delhi. Old Delhi houses many historic and beautiful attractions such as mosques, and forts which are elements of India’s history. New Delhi is a modernized city with new governmental buildings, and lots of tourism inspired shopping. Also within Delhi are Red Fort, and Humayun’s Tomb, both of which have been declared World Heritage Sites.

The next city you must visit on your India vacation, is Punjab. Punjab is a modernized city which boasts a newer public transportation system which connects you to all over the city. Punjab boasts many restaurants, along with historic and beautiful land marks including the Indus Valley civilization landmark, the Golden Temple, and many other amazing gardens and temples.

One event you should definitely not miss out on when in India is Diwali. In the Hindu religion, Diwali marks the moment when Lord Raama returns to his kingdom after defeating the demon king, Ravana.

Diwali is celebrated for 5 days, which begins in late September or early October, and is based off of the Hindu lunar calendar. Diwali is a great celebration in India, and throughout the country you will see amazing cultural traditions, and enjoy a great feast.

Author: John Bateman
Source: articlemarketer.com

A recent report by Mintel revealed that the number of single person holidays has grown by over five percent in the past five years. Although a relatively small proportion of the overall holiday market, solo travel is significant within certain groups with a third of single person households under the age of 65 stating they had taken a solo holiday.

Long-haul destinations seemed to be the most popular choice of holiday with more than one in eight long-haul holidays being taken by a solo traveller compared to one in twenty in holidays overall.

Tom Rees, a Senior Travel Analyst at Mintel, said that “the market potential for holidays targeted at singles is huge and is set to grow even more. Single person households now account for just under one third of all those in the United Kindgom.” He went on to say that over the next twenty five years the singles population is forecast to grow by 31%, and will be accounting for about 45% of the adult population.

So, with over 5 million people set to take a solo holiday this year, it is surprising that the results on search engines are not as targeted or competitive as they might be. For example, search queries such as “holidays for singles over 50″ or even “holidays for single people” result in listings advertising holidays for single people, parties for singles and online single dating. The natural (organic) results display far more relevant websites, but I can’t help but feel that those travel operators, hotels and resorts that do not rank well naturally are missing out. A well thought out campaign with engaging creative and targeted landing pages for solo travel would, I am sure, return a good return on investment (ROI) as currently competition is weak. Stealing a march on your competition would not only allow for better Click Through Rates (CTRs) but also allow a much higher Quality Score and consequently lower CPCs to be achieved much quicker on your Pay Per Click (PPC) campaigns.

Tom Rees states in the Mintel report “in the long term, hotels and resorts that choose to specialise in providing high quality accommodation for singles have the potential to create new demand in a large and relatively ‘under travelled’ segment of the population.”

So if you do offer long haul holidays or accommodation, it may well be worth running a solo traveller campaign if you don’t already!

We all know traveling’s expensive, but if you’ve got the travel bug, you need to get out there and, well, travel! It definitely feels much better than staying at home just so you can save your money.

As a savvy traveler, you know that research makes a big difference. The guidelines in this article go hand in hand with your research. Check them out – you’ll find yourself saving money and still getting to where you want to go.

1. Stay away from trends. When everyone else is heading off to that Caribbean beach, find your adventurous spirit and go where most people aren’t! It’s a great way to miss out on the crowds. Off-season travel is another good idea.

2. Lower your air transportation costs. Airfare can make or break a budget, so search carefully for the best fares you can find. You can usually get good deals online, and even better deals if you check prices for different times of the day, or avoid weekend flights. And don’t forget to check for prices at different times, too.

3. Check out the alternatives to flying. You can definitely be creative, and try something you’ve never tried before. Cruises are fun, and you can sometimes get good deals. Traveling by bus can be an option if you have additional time. And train rides are a great experience.

4. Your car can take you places. Sure, gas prices are high, but if it’s possible to drive to where you want to go, definitely compare prices. You’ll have other possible expenses, like overnight accommodation, so make sure you take that into account. And you should definitely get your car serviced before you leave, so you won’t be stuck with emergency repair bills.

5. Check for bargain hotel rates. It never hurts to ask if you can get a discount for a room. Hotels like to be full, so if there are too many empty rooms, often you can negotiate a better room rate. A hotel that does a lot of business conferences, for example, is likely to be less busy on weekends.

6. Check out cheap accommodation alternatives. Bed and breakfasts are charming and may be less expensive than hotels. There are also retreat centers, hostels, timeshares, house sitting or even home exchanges. During the summer, many colleges and universities will lease out dormitory rooms and apartments.

Sure, you need money to travel. But you can definitely keep well within your budget. Research, and follow the tips above, and you’ll be able to plan a trip well worth taking without breaking the bank.

When you think about your holiday plans, you may often imagine how nice it will be to spend time on the beach, or maybe splashing about in the sea. Such visions are often associated with summer and yet many of us know that this is the most expensive time to be taking a holiday. Some of the very best deals can be found in the autumn.

The problem with trying to go on holiday in the summer months is that so many other people want to travel at the same time of year. That’s partly because many children don’t have to attend school during the summer months, ensuring that it provides a good opportunity for families to travel. But it’s also because many people believe that this time of year offers the best opportunity to have great weather.

The impact of such demand soon becomes clear. Airlines and holiday companies are able to charge a lot more for flights, accommodation and airport transfers during the summer months because they know that there are plenty of customers available to them. This helps to explain why many independent travel experts suggest that you should try to be as flexible as possible when making holiday bookings.

But what about avoiding travelling at peak times altogether? You may be worried that travelling in the autumn, for example, may mean that you’re exposed to colder weather and simply won’t have such a good time. Luckily, this needn’t be the case. You’ll find that there are plenty of locations where you can find perfectly pleasant weather conditions at later times of the year.

Indeed, some Mediterranean locations are at their very best during the autumn months. There is the added bonus, of course, in knowing that you’ll also be able to take advantage of the lower prices that will be on offer. Always check out the best autumn holiday deals before booking a holiday.

Find out more about autumn holidays at Alpharooms online, as discussed by Keith Barrett. This article may be used by any website publisher, though this resource box must always be included in full.

It’s that time of the year again when most of us are thinking of going abroad on holiday. However, with the ongoing recession, many people are also considering staying in the UK to save costs and it’s estimated that one third of us will be doing so this year.

If you are planning to go further afield, here are 15 money saving tips that could help your pocket and allow more to be put aside for your next holiday!

Booking flights – Do your homework. Plan well in advance when booking flights directly and check out discount websites for the best deals.
Connecting flights – OK, it may be a pain and take you longer to reach your destination, but it could save you significant sums.
Be flexible on your actual travel dates – It’s often the case that travelling a day or so before or after your first choice can save you a significant sum, especially by avoiding weekends.
Book a bundle – There are many deals that save money by buying flights, hotels, car rental etc together.
Go off season – if you are not restricted because of school holidays etc, you may even be able to go two weeks for the price of one by avoiding peak times.
Stay outside the centre of towns or in towns close by – Hotels etc will be much cheaper, all for the sake of a short bus ride.
Avoid hotels – Normally this is the expensive option for accommodation. Self catering should be cheaper. Alternatively, have you thought of a home exchange? They are really popular now and lots of agencies are around to match you up for a small fee.
Car rental – Don’t be bullied into getting a larger car than you actually need, get the smallest one with the comfort required. It should also save you on petrol! On that point, always fill up with the regular option and return the car full. Don’t let the rental company charge you for filling it up on return, it will definitely cost you!
Eating out – It’s often the case that lunches are much cheaper than dinners, so consider a larger lunch and lighter snack later. Also, do a bit of research before heading out to eat, get some local recommendations for good quality, economical restaurants.
Local transport – Look for multi-day unlimited travel passes on trains, buses, metros, etc
Taxis – Avoid them whenever possible, they may be convenient but costly compared to public transport.
Currency exchange – Many exchanges offer very poor rates, so search the internet for the best sources of local currency.
Get friendly with the ‘natives’ – Make sure you take the opportunity to chat to the locals, they will tell you the best places to eat, where to visit and where to avoid.
Snacks – Avoid overcharging in hotels, by buying snacks, drinks, water etc in local stores.
Telephones – Be very, very careful when using mobiles or in room telephones. If you really need to call home look for cheap phone cards and make sure you understand the tariffs.

If you follow at least some of the above saving tips, you should be cutting your total holiday costs, so bear them in mind, remember how to save on holidays, make sure you’ve packed your passport and enjoy!

br
The region of Caribbean has emerged as one of the ideal places for spending your holidays. It is not only suitable for families and individuals but perfect for couples too. In fact, it is ranked as the best place for couples to spend their honeymoon.

The Caribbean is not just the name of one place, it is whole region that has more than 7,000 islands, cays and reefs. Therefore, it gets quite difficult to choose which island to visit. The most popular destinations are Bermuda, Cuba, Cayman Islands, St. John, Guadeloupe, Saint Vincent etc. The options are limitless, in a place that has been compared to heavens.

The Caribbean is a tropical area. The weather remains the same throughout the year. It is pleasant and warm so best suited for couples comparing to the cold areas. However, anyone who wants to share some cosy moments with his or her partner in privacy of the clear blue skies, Caribbean is the place to be.

You can have a cruising trip around the Caribbean. This will enable you to visit several islands in a go, or you can just choose to relax on the white sands of the Caribbean. Sunbath all day long or swim in the clear blue waters, the choice is yours.

You can have a lot of fun by indulging in water sports like diving, snorkelling, yachting, sailing, and kayaking etc. If you are interested in marine life, Caribbean lets you watch it closely through a submarine trip that takes you around 500m under seawater. More adventurous would be swimming with the dolphins.

The people of Caribbean enjoy carnivals and festivals. You will have a great time here by participating in these festivities. If your partner is a music lover, surprise her by taking her to see Bob Marleys birthplace in Reggae, Jamaica. Nightlife at Caribbean is thriving. If you are a nightlife enthusiast, Caribbean will surprise you by its unique bars, clubs, and restaurants.

The best part of your holidays will be traditional Caribbean cuisine and shopping. You will find the true taste of seafood while being at the Caribbean. Apart from that, since the Caribbean is home to diverse cultures, you will find cuisines from every corner of the world. Shopping is the best part because totally it is duty free. You can find everything from clothing and shoes to native handicrafts. You two can enjoy the traditional plantations at the Caribbean that will give you a true taste of the history of the Caribbean.

These are activities that a couple must relish, and without which, the trip will not be complete. You will get a taste of the life in 18th and 19th century here. Whether it is a private picnic on an inhabited island, or a hike through a dense rainforest, morning walks on the sandy beaches or swimming through the turquoise waters of the Caribbean, you will have the most fantastic time of your life here. A holiday that you two will remember for times to come is waiting in Caribbean.

Antigua offers one of the ultimate Caribbean experiences wile boasting a large amount of three hundred and sixty five beaches. Antigua is also blessed with a pelagic heritage dating back to the Nelsons era. The famous sailing week that is admired all over the world also takes place in Antigua. Antigua is not only rich in history and culture, but it also offers one of the most comfortable holidays in the Caribbean.

The white powder soft beaches of Antigua make it so unsual and charismatic. The fresh seafood served in Antigua is popular in the world and the cuisine is diverse just like the customs. Antigua has a unique and special atmosphere. The resorts and hotels on the island are lush and exclusive.

The Galley Bay is one of the top ranked resorts in Antigua, and it is found in a setting that is obscure and calm. There is a bird sanctuary and the beach that spans to three quarters of a mile. On the West coast of Antigua, there is the Cocobay, which is sited at a beautiful bluff. It is a quite new resort and the best that you would find amongst all the newly built.

There is remarkable woodwork in the interior and there is handcrafted plantation style furniture also. The resort has all the characteristics of a great getaway. Cocobay has forty-two cottages, which are not only appealing because of their pastel shades, but also offer complete peace and time for yourself.

Another wonderful resort in Antigua is Bluewaters, which is set in fourteen acres of tropical, exotic gardens. A lot of tourists come to the resort each year because of the excellent environment that they get there along with the hospitable service. You can get a few great views of the sunset from the position where the resort is located. All the rooms have private balconies that offer you ultimate seclusion and privacy, along with exotic views of the island.

The Curtain Bluff is a resort that has been there for more than forty years and the fifteen acres of beach combined with the amazing gardens create some brilliant vistas with the sea gust. You can coddle yourself in a luxurious and restful experience at the hotel.

Pristine beaches with lush, tropical plantations border the Jumby Bay Resort in Antigua. It is a private island and offers exclusivity of the truest nature. The location of the resort is very elegant and it has a croquet lawn and airy verandas. The Estate house is actually two hundred and thirty years old and is a great venue for your meals and drinks, as well as for staying.

Antiguas resorts and luxury getaways do not end there. It has a lot more to offer. Other luxury hotels that are the most famous in all of the Caribbean are St. James Club, Hermitage Bay, Inn at the English Harbour and the Carlisle Bay. The sightseeing and shopping is also great in Antigua.
Summer time is the perfect time for snap happy people, and for anyone heading to an exotic destination for a well deserved break. Tourists all over the world capture priceless memories forever and their top-quality images are then stored away never to be seen by anyone.
Travel photography is a great hobby for any holiday goer, and with a few helpful tips you can bring home some great images that you can enjoy forever. If your images are better then normal you may be able to make some cash from them.
The key to travel photography is to make your images appealing to a wider audience than normal. You want to capture the mood and culture of a new place. You need to be able to sell a holiday through a photo.
Tips on what to photograph:
Taking landscape images in a far-off land can be tricky. The light conditions may be very different from what you are used to. Exposure may also be very tricky to calculate. If you are in doubt, bracket your shots to ensure that you will get the perfect image.
Travel photographers should start their day as the sun is rising. This is the best time to capture mood in a landscape image.
Night time urban landscape pictures will always make an interesting shot when exposed correctly. Use a tripod to ensure that your image is sharp.
Food shots can be very memorable, try to include the waiter or anything that you normally dont see at home. The interior and the exterior of restaurants can also be photographed.
Take pictures of local signs, buildings and famous landmarks. Be very careful with the position of the sun. Try taking images when the sun is to your side. This will cast long shadows along the front of the building. Use a polarising filter to cut out any glare from the glass in buildings.
Photograph the people. Travel companies are always seeking interesting people images. Photograph people eating food – people working – children playing – local police, fire fighters and any other service people in the area. Make sure that they are doing something interesting.
Visit local markets. This can make very interesting photography. Take plenty of images of the local stalls and the sellers. Take pictures of the different foods and anything else that you think may be unusual.
Travel photography may also be an immense financial trip for the professional photographer. Photo publishers are always seeking new material and are always on the look out for new talent.
When you return home with your images make a copy of each. Label each image with a brief caption. Its best to do this straight away when the holiday is fresh in your head.
Any holiday goer with the ability to use their lens correctly has the potential to sell their images. All you need to know is what makes a good travel image. You dont need to be a top class photographer to profit from taking pictures of far-off places.
